Kount
The second game in Perplext’s “:60 Second Series” is called Kount and it’s all about how fast you can count…er… Kount.
The idea behind the series of games is that the game you’re about to play will last 60 seconds. You’ve gotta love that they’ve taken the idea of a pick up and play game very seriously and it’s also nice to know just what you’re getting yourself into.
While the first game “EnterState” had you picking out all 50 states in 60 seconds “Kount” changes it up and only wants you to pick out the numbers 1 through 40 in order with the same on minute time limit.
Admittedly, this is a lot easier than the states game. That seem obvious since their 10 fewer things to get to in the time frame, but after 15 games I never went once without winning. That doesn’t make the game bad, you are still competing against the clock. Only now you’re going for a better time with each game.
And speaking of the game… it’s very simple. All 40 numbers are laid out on a grid and you use the touch screen to tap on the number that’s next in the sequence. I can find no fault with the game play. It’s almost too simple for them to screw up, so it’s good they didn’t.
The numbers are randomly placed each time you play so things will change up. But in all reality the game will feel fairly similar every time you play it. This leaves only you and the clock to see if the game has the right replay factor you’re looking for.
Another aspect of the 60 Second games is that they use a pretty cool scoreboard. Calling it a “Circle of Friends Scoreboard”, Perplext allows
you to sync up with only the people you want to compete against. This is really a great idea. Sure a Global Board is nice, but I really like having just the people I know on the board.
Every part of the game is nicely put together. Everything is kept simple so that the ease of play can shine and that’s what you’re really looking for in a game like this. And while the game is not quite as challenging as EnterState, there is still a nice “one more game” feeling to it and it also seems perfect for younger kids that are still learning their numbers.
The :60 Second Series is very welcomed addition to the App Store and Kount is a nice use of both the series idea and the touch screen. Looking for something that is a very easy to play and still provides enough challenge to make it interesting? you can Kount on this one. Sorry… had to say that.

cool game, entersatate is fun and this looks better
i got a free one called “1 to 30″ which is exactly the same…
I think “enterstate” sounds more appealing because of the challenge level…
