Ragdoll Blaster Review

Backflip Studios has created an extremely simplistic but addicting action based puzzler game for the iPhone and iTouch, and while short it’s a real blast while it lasts.

picture-45The Objective in this game is to hit launch your rag doll from the cannon to the target using the least amount of rag dolls throughout 73 levels.

You will have to use your brain to complete these levels though. Some levels require you to sacrifice rag dolls to get objects moving in order to obtain the target, but make sure you time it right because on some levels the target will roll off the screen causing you to reset the level and try again.

Controlling the game is simple, point and fire, the farther away from the cannon the faster it goes. The Major thing I noticed is that your rag doll can get stuck pretty easy, and that can cause you to have to reset the level lot.

The thing I love is how addicting the game is. However it is pretty short and can be completed in 30-40 minutes the first time through using a total of 825 rag dolls. I say first time because your going to want to play the game again and again in attempts to lower you rag doll total.

picture-55Graphically the game is very clean but those looking to showcase the iPhone with this app will be disappointed. The graphics consist of hand drawn pencil and paper animation. It works very well for this game.

It’s almost like when you were a kid an drew a stick man animation on multiple pages of paper and flip through them.

I really liked the art style simple and effective. Audio wise the game has some very nice background music from peter and the wolf that really gets you thinking how to make the obstacle work. The only thing bad  is it only has one song, it could use some more variety.

Overall This Game is mediocre in graphics but insanely addicting in all 73 of its levels that’s right 73 levels to stimulate your brain for once. My favorite so far is the last one, Candy Machine, plainly because it is the most difficult and has some color to it.

The Good
Very Addicting
Great Background Music
73 wonderful levels

The Bad
No online scores
No Own Level Maker
