Wooden Labyrinth 3D Review
Tilt, turn, and jump to avoid the holes and get to the finish in Wooden Labyrinth 3D, a new twist on the classic game of Labyrinth.
While there may be a lot of labyrinth type games in the app store, not a single one has been as different and unique as Wooden Labyrinth 3D. In Wooden Labyrinth 3D, it is basically the same game of labyrinth; however it has quite a few new features that the others lack.
For example, as the title suggest; the game is fully in 3D. It makes this game the only one of its kind, and helps make it stand out from the horde of labyrinth games in the app store. This 3D view also adds a whole new aspect to the gameplay, because with the 3D view also comes jumping.
In certain levels, jumping will be needed to move past various blocks and obstacles. To jump, you need to swiftly shake your iDevice up and down. I, however, found this slightly tedious, and would much rather have an actual on screen jump button. After playing with the game though, I realized that by tapping the back of the device you can make the ball jump much easier.
The graphics in Wooden Labyrinth 3D are nothing spectacular (plain wood and ball), but get the job done and allow the game to have no slowdowns whatsoever. I for one would much rather plain no frills graphics with a smooth frame rate over some fancy overdone game that has major performance issues.
One of the really cool parts about Wooden Labyrinth 3D is the fact that it is so highly customizable. You can change tilt sensitivity, calibrate the game, and even change the amount of friction (Whether the ball can stop on a dime, or if it actually follows the laws of physics, which requires much more skill) on the table. You can tune the game to whatever difficulty you’d like – whether you’re a beginner or a pro!
The audio in the game consists of simple ball on wood noises, as well as some relaxing and subtle in game music.
One thing that I thought was extremely unique about the game was that all of the menus and level select screens play like a level. For example, on the main screen, the buttons are all wooden blocks, and you can roll the marble around as if it were a level. I thought this was an enormously creative addition to the game.
Wooden Labyrinth 3D also has a level editor which is scheduled for a release on a nearby date (hopefully). This really is the only thing that the game lacks, because past the initial 100 levels there is much replay ability.
The developer plans to add additional level packs as well, which would be a nice touch to compliment the level editor.
The game does manage to add some replay ability with the fact that each level has a ‘par’ time for completing it. I can see myself playing levels again and again until I beat the par time.
Overall, Wooden Labyrinth 3D is a great game that can both replicate the original version and play much more casually, for gamers such as myself that aren’t experts when it comes to skill and precision. It’s soon to be released level editor, as well as more levels on the way makes this game a great buy in my opinion. Anyone interested in a labyrinth type game should give Wooden Labyrinth 3D a look.
The Good
———-- Great gameplay
- Very unique
- Level editor in the works
The Bad
———-- Not much replay ability
- Not as many levels as some of its competitors

Hi Glenn,
Just came back from work, the 2 codes you send me don’t work at all. I send email to you with the screenshots attached.
Loved the first one and this is as good or better…
Tried the lite and it seemed pretty good!
just joined the site and it rocks so far! I like labyrinth games but ive never played this one. Its cool that it has a level editor.
i hope the level editor will come out. that would be awesome. maybe if you can submit it online…
This certainly looks like a maze game to roll that little silver ball against gravity on my iphone.
I wonder how they simulate gravity on the iphone.
i really like labyrinth games. Never played this one but it seems cool.
sounds like an awesome labryinth game. I dont play many of these but they seem cool.
i tried the lite version and i think it is better than the other labyrinth game. I bet the full version is really great and a level editor makes it even better.
this looks very addicting, I’ve come to like these type of games recently. Good review.
I played through the lite version really fast, and it was really fun. I love the idea of a level editor too, that would add tons of replayability. Looks like fun.
i have a few lite labyrinth games but never took the plunge to buy one. The lite version of this game imo is already better than the rest of them but a level editor would really set it apart.
This looks great! I’ve loved the first, 2D version from way before the official AppStore version and I still play it every other day, at least – there’s no end to the number of downloadable “levels.” But this looks like it takes that game to a higher dimension (sorry). I need to take the lite version for a test drive, of course, but the graphics look exactly as spectacular as they need to be for a game of this nature and if the 3D tilting perspective works as well as it appears then this could be another keeper for me.
this looks like a fun game!
Woo Hoo! A 3d labrynth game, finally!
Btw, good review andy!
picked up the lite version, i think the 2d labrynth game that cae out first is a little better.
Wow, I like the concept of the level editor. I’ve seen this one in the app store, but didn’t give it much thought as I’ve played some of the others like this. I’m going to check out the lite version today!
It looks pretty good but I got the lite version and was not a huge fan.
This is a solid labyrith game. To be honest, I never try a labyrinth game before.
I only saw movies about a monster in labyrinth attacking people.
To get the ball out of the maze requires abit of brains. I believe I can do it though I am a newbie to such games.
This game looks great. I love tge 3D aspect It’s been on my want list for a little bit now.
looks cool. I have that other labyrinth game that came out a long time ago and i really love it. Jumping is cool.
I have this and it’s really good, and I love the jumping feature. (I also like the jumping bug
But still enter me for the code because I can trade it.
wow a level editor?!
cool
labyrinth have one but only for pc…..
nice app
The lite vesion looks polished and has better gameplay than original Labyrinth. With the level editor and some option to share these newly created levels this game would be a must have.
a really cool graphic and awsome gameplay ..
a classicer with a level editor that sounds great!
I forgot I had the lite version of this I still need to play. If you lightly tap the bottom of your iphone/touch with your finger it’ll make the ball jump. I don’t know if that makes it easier though seeing as I haven’t played it yet.
Wow this looks really cool, i’ve never purchased a labeythinth game but I have playedfree versions – there fun.
A level editor sounds really cool!
