Growing up during the 80′s our gaming choices were not as varied as they are today as most of the games were slight variants of each other and mostly revolved around what people would classify as “casual” gaming today. However ask any gamer over the age of 30 and I guarantee they will remember fondly waking up on Christmas morning to find games like the Nintendo’s Game & Watch series sitting under the tree.
Dawn of PLay’s first universal application entitled “Monkey Labour” will instantly bring you back to 80′s and help educated new gamers to the enjoyment of gameplay simplicity.
Monkey Labour features simple but addictive gameplay mechanics that any gamer will quickly get, however mastering the game will prove harder to master – using just two control buttons, the player has to stoke an oven with lumber collected from the right side of the screen and move them to the left side of the screen while the angry monkey boss throws obstacles at him from above.
Fortunately, the creaky factory plumbing does provide some chance for retaliation as an overheating oven will send plumes of fire from the ceiling, enabling the player to scorch the monkey for extra points, though risking the monkey’s rage if it manages to evade the flames!
For gamers willing to put in some effort the game really begins to shine around the 1000 point mark where players can start to fully experience the game’s potential, though this is by no means the final target as the game gets increasingly faster and with Game Center integration, the player’s ultimate goal is to set impressive high scores and earn achievements.
Features at a glance:
